Do I need to hire new employees from time to time? How about having a pool of suitable candidates close at hand?
APPLICANT/RECRUITMENT…maintaining a pool of potential employees
Talented, motivated employees are the lifeblood of any organization. As the environment you do business in becomes more competitive, attracting the best talent to your organization is no longer merely smart - it's critical to your company's success. The HRM2001 Series provides the tools you need to identify top candidates, track them through the interviewing process and stay in touch with them until the position has been successfully filled.
HRM2001's Applicant/Recruitment component streamlines and standardizes the hiring process, helping to ensure every applicant is treated equitably and every candidate is interviewed consistently. Individual applicant work history, educational information, skills - even interview notes - can be maintained.
As applicants proceed through the interview cycle, you may keep them apprised of their progress using automated acknowledgement, invitation, offer and rejection letters. When applicants accept your offer, they automatically become employees in your employee database, based on the information that's been recorded for them during the interview cycle.
Applicant
Applicants may typically be separated into three (3) categories.
I - The first group includes persons who fall below the threshold or outside the scope of our current or future needs. In this case, minimal data is entered (name, address, job position being applied for). A suitable response form letter may then be generated automatically to these persons.
II - The second group are persons who have attributes (education, experience, skills and training) that make them candidates for future employment even if vacancies do not currently exist. Relevant details are captured from the applicant's resume'.
III - The third group are persons who are actively being considered for employment. In this case, candidates are taken through all the various pre-recruitment steps that may ultimately lead to employment.
To facilitate the active recruitment process, information may be captured on dependents, qualifications, work history and references. This data will be available to employees who are part of the recruitment process.
Interview criteria may be defined and interviewers instructed in the use of standard techniques and evaluation criteria. Upon completion of the interview, candidates may also be graded and an overall score calculated for the applicant. The entire process is streamlined and employees relevant to the selection process given easy yet secure access to make their inputs. HR is also able to direct and control the process.
Recruitment
After the decision has been made to offer a job to the applicant and he/she accepts, with a single click on the Recruit icon, applicant data is transferred to create the related record for the new employee. The system may automatically assign an employee number for the new hire if system generated numbering is used.
Periodically data may be purged from the Applicant database by selecting those records that need to be removed and deleting them from the database.
Future enhancements in this area will include a web interface that allows applicants to complete forms on-line and automate the data capture process.
